Breakfast

Working Still by Borg de Nobel (http://borgeous.wordpress.com). Used with permission.

It’s breakfast
time
but we don’t awake
for coffee
grounds
or sweet cakes
eyes open only
to the sound
of blackened spoons
clacking
underground
in this
hollow sphere
we are neighbors
but we
don’t go by names
detecting
beauty in mud
dirt grains
reflect
the pain the sun
declines to shine
upon.

  1. Loved it. Especially these sections:

    “eyes open only
    to the sound
    of blackened spoons
    clacking
    underground”

    “we
    don’t go by names
    detecting
    beauty in mud
    dirt grains
    reflect
    the pain the sun
    declines to shine
    upon”
